About the NPD:

The Negative Protein Database was conceived by Larry Reiter and initially developed at Cold Spring Harbor. The first online version of the NPD  was developed at the University of California, San Diego by Michael Fisher.  The current version of the NPD was developed by Long Do.  The server running the NPD is maintained by the staff of Dr. Ethan Bier in the Division of Biological Sciences at UCSD.

Data Provisioning:

• E. coli K12 data (4-25-2007) provided by NCBI.
• M. acetivorans data (1-19-2006) provided by NCBI.
• C. elegans data (WS176) provided by Wormbase.
• A. thaliana data provided by NCBI.
• H. sapiens data (v3.29) provided by European Bioinformatics Institute with OMIM entries included in annotation. Dataset with OMIM annotation created by the Bier Lab.
• M. musculus data (v3.29) provided by European Bioinformatics Institute.
• D. melanogaster data (r5.1) provided by Flybase. Re-annotated version with Gene Ontology created by the Bier Lab.
• S. cerevisiae data (05-07-2006) provided by Stanford University.
• D. discoideum data (6-24-2007) provided by Dictybase.
• Chlamydomonas reinhardtii data (v3.0) provided by JGI.
